In the UK we operate a Graduate Scheme, while in our other offices we offer a more tailor-made approach. Training in our international offices involves elements of our formal graduate scheme, and often includes time spent in our UK office, plus specific training for the role and local market needs.
The Graduate Scheme in the UK has been set up to give graduates joining the company a structured training programme in which they will receive an array of training and career development opportunities to help them excel in a successful career with us. Graduates are expected to come out of this programme thoroughly trained, not only in IPD processes and procedures but also well versed in investment analysis and relevant technical areas.
Key elements of the programme:
- Graduates will be given a solid grounding in investment analysis and a comprehensive knowledge of performance measurement. They will gain a good understanding of property as an investment asset and its place in the wider market.
- They are also taught general business and professional skills to enable them to do the job effectively and for personal development. These skills include time-management, team-working and effective client handling. The appropriate IT skills are also provided.
- In the latter part of the programme a graduate’s technical and business skills are honed further with advanced performance measurement, analytical and research techniques, and presentation skills.
Our largest intake of graduates is in the core business area of Performance Analysis. It is an on-going process and there are start dates throughout the year, so applications are not subject to deadlines.
At IPD we consider applications from graduates with different numerate disciplines (e. g. Economics, Land Management and Geography). We also place a high emphasis on personal attributes and motivation.
