Global Estate Measurement Standards
Providing you with global standards in performance measurement

Global Estate Management Standards – or ‘GEMS’ - is a proprietary system introduced by IPD Occupiers to create a standard platform for use within the real estate management industry. GEMS works as a dictionary to define and categorise property characteristics, functions, and cost. This standardisation helps IPD Occupiers to provide clients with the most accurate and constant data for use in global benchmarking. Our GEMS include the Cost Code, Space Code (available Spring / Summer 2008), and the Environment Code (available early 2008).

IPD Occupier GEMS are an industry standard for the measurement of property characteristics, functions, and cost. GEMS are endorsed by leading industry bodies such as RICS, BIFM, BCO, IFMA and CoreNet.
