In association with University College London (UCL) our Facility Management Benchmarking Group offers a learning forum for industry professionals. The group is facilitated by the director of Facility and Environment Management course at UCL, Peter McLennan, and Glenn Corney from IPD Occupiers. Sessions are held quarterly on:
- Strategy & Structure: this session helps facility managers align their objectives to those of the core business and examines current trends in the industry.
- Performance Measurement: reviews the importance of external benchmarking and helps facility managers to identify the necessary KPI’s to track and monitor their improvements.
- CSR & Sustainability: reviews the FM service value chain and offers best practices solutions for improving the sustainability credentials through participant case studies.
- Space & Place: identifies way to manage space more effectively by examining performance based buildings, business aligned workplaces, corporate space standards and spatial benchmarks.
UCL’s involvement in our FM Benchmarking Group brings a wealth of fresh ideas to the industry. UCL is ranked fourth in the world by the Times Higher Education - QS World University Rankings 2009. The FM Benchmarking group has been running for 8 years and has over 30 large corporate members.
