The IPD Environment Code has now been downloaded free of charge over 4,000 times in 75 countries. It is being used all around the world by organisations as a good practice template for the collection, measurement and analysis of environmental real estate information.
The IPD Environment Code includes an Environmental Health-Check, which is a series of qualitative measures in questionnaire form. Here is a free-to-use online version of the IPD Health-Check.
The Health-check was originally designed for occupiers of buildings, but many landlords are also completing the questionnaire to examine their buildings’ environmental credentials from an operational perspective.
There are 40 questions. It is not an exhaustive list, but is a useful starting point in understanding a building’s environmental credentials.
At the end of the questionnaire, you will be given a health-check rating from ‘very poor health’ to ‘excellent health’.
