Real Problems, Real Solutions: Using property derivatives in uncertain times
|
 |
The state of the investment property markets in UK and abroad is presenting a new set of challenges for portfolio managers and property owners. Uncertainty abounds for market performance prospects, levels of investment activity, and property market liquidity. In all these areas the developing property derivatives sector has a role to play expanding the tools available to property investment professionals.
This one-day event will focus on the practical uses of property derivatives for mainstream property investors. Most of the day will be used to explore three key investment uses of property derivatives, drawing on the recent experience of investors using these instruments.
The case studies will cover:
• Managing the sector/segment allocation within a property portfolio
• Managing portfolio liquidity
• Hedging property market risk
The conference will also offer a wide perspective on the full range of investment applications now emerging for property derivatives, including international diversification and residential investment.
In addition the conference will provide:
• An introduction to Part 2 of Getting into Property Derivatives, the IPF/PDIG property derivatives user guide
• An optional refresher course on the basics of property derivatives before the main event opens
Organisations presenting at this event include: Aberdeen Property Investors; Alphabeta Fund Management; Eurex; Eurohypo; ICAP; Legal & General Investment Management; PRUPIM; Royal Bank of Scotland; Tradition Financial Services.
